How billing actually works.
Hard MAU caps
Hit your cap and the SDK stops serving for the rest of the month. Existing tours mid-flight finish; new sessions see nothing until next month or until you upgrade. Never an overage line item.
Monthly or annual
Pay monthly with no commitment, or pay annually for two months free. Switch between billing intervals from the dashboard at renewal.
Self-serve everything
Sign up, pick a plan, paste your card. Cancel or switch tiers from the Stripe Customer Portal. No sales call, no procurement step, no account-manager handoff.
Trial unlocks the whole product
7 days of Growth-tier features so you can evaluate the real product, not a stripped-down preview. No card to start the trial; you only enter one when you pick a paid plan.

What counts as a Steppr MAU (monthly active user)?
Any unique end user who loads your site with the Steppr snippet during a calendar UTC month, identified by the steppr.identify() call you make or - if you have not identified them - by an anonymous cookie ID per browser. The same user across multiple devices in the same month counts once when you call identify() with the same userId on each device.
What happens if we hit our MAU cap mid-month?
The Steppr SDK stops serving tours, checklists, and announcements for the rest of the calendar month. End users mid-tour finish what they are on; new sessions see nothing. The dashboard shows a banner so the workspace owner knows. There is no overage charge - your invoice for the month is exactly the plan price.
Can I switch Steppr plans mid-cycle?
Yes. Stripe handles the proration automatically - upgrade and you are charged the difference today; downgrade and you get a credit applied at the next renewal. There is no downtime.
Does Steppr charge per seat?
No. Plans are flat-rate per workspace. Each plan includes a seat cap (3 on Starter, 10 on Growth, unlimited on Scale and Enterprise) but adding teammates within that cap is free.
How does the annual discount on Steppr work?
Annual billing is "two months free" - pay for 10 months, get 12. Same plan, same hard caps, same features.
What if my MAU is over 25,000?
That is an Enterprise conversation. Email hello@steppr.io and we will quote you. Volume + SSO + SLA + audit log are the differentiators above Scale.
Can I get a refund from Steppr?
Cancel anytime and you keep access until the end of the current billing period. We do not prorate refunds for partial months. Annual plans are non-refundable except where required by law.
Does Steppr pricing include API and ingest usage?
Yes. There is no separate metered charge for API calls, ingest events, or analytics queries. The MAU cap is the only meter.
