Terms of Service
Effective April 25, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Steppr website, dashboard, API, and JavaScript SDK (collectively, the “Service”) provided by Steppr (“Steppr,” “we,” or “us”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the entity you represent.
1. The Service
Steppr provides software for building product tours, checklists, and in-app guidance. You embed our SDK on your own web application; the SDK renders content authored in our dashboard to your end users. You are solely responsible for the websites and applications on which you install the SDK and for the content you publish through the Service.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account, including activity by invited team members. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
3. Plans, billing, and trials
- Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle through Stripe. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
- New workspaces receive a free trial. You may be required to provide a payment method before the trial begins; you can cancel at any time during the trial without charge.
- Each plan has a hard MAU (monthly active users) cap. If your usage exceeds the cap, the SDK will stop serving content to new end users for the remainder of the calendar month unless you upgrade.
- We may change pricing on at least 30 days’ notice. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right.
- Install the SDK on a site you do not own or have written permission to instrument.
- Send through the Service any content that is unlawful, deceptive, harassing, or that contains malware.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent any technical limit of the Service.
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without a written agreement.
5. Your content and data
You retain ownership of all content you create in the dashboard and all data ingested from your end users via the SDK (“Customer Data”). You grant Steppr a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display Customer Data solely as needed to operate the Service for you. Our processing of personal data on your behalf is governed by our Data Processing Addendum.
6. Steppr’s IP
Steppr and its licensors retain all rights in the Service, the SDK, and our documentation. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the Service and embed the SDK on web applications you operate.
7. Confidentiality
Each party will protect the other’s non-public information with the same care it uses for its own confidential information, and will use it only to perform under these Terms.
8. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform scheduled maintenance and will use commercially reasonable efforts to give advance notice of significant downtime.
9. Suspension and termination
Either party may terminate for convenience by giving notice; paid fees for the remaining billing period are non-refundable. We may suspend or terminate immediately for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or activity that puts the Service or other customers at risk. On termination, we will delete or return Customer Data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
10. Warranties and disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenue. Each party’s total liability arising out of or related to these Terms is capped at the fees you paid Steppr in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify Steppr against third-party claims arising from your Customer Data, your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or your installation of the SDK on a site you are not authorized to instrument.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and each party consents to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes take effect 30 days after we post them or notify you. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
